We have engineered an entire civilisation around things meant to be thrown away. Cups, packaging, relationships, workers, ideas. We have learned to use and discard with remarkable efficiency. Disposability is not an accident. It was designed. It was sold to us as convenience, and we accepted it as progress.
The glass here was itself discarded before it became this. There is a deep irony in giving permanence to the god of the temporary. That is the point. This god will outlast everything that created it.
