Convenience is perhaps the most seductive god of all. It does not ask us to be cruel or careless. It simply asks us to choose the easier option. And then again. And then again. Until the easier option is the only one we can see. Convenience is how disposability became normal. Convenience is how we stopped asking where things come from and where they go.

The most powerful systems in the world are sustained not by force but by friction reduction. We comply because compliance is easy. We consume because consumption is seamless. The roots are gnarled and difficult. The glass is smooth and immediate. The tension between them is the work.
